About
I'm Dylan, based in Melbourne. I work at a small software company where the role covers more ground than any job title suggests: deploying and integrating systems across hardware, software, and API layers, scoping and delivering projects, and owning the technical side of bringing new customers onboard. AWS, Python, Node-RED, Linux. The toolkit shifts with the problem.
I've been doing this for over five years and enjoy the generalist nature of it. There's something satisfying about being the person who figures things out: wiring two systems together that weren't designed to talk, or building a dashboard that makes operations actually visible.
I've also been keeping a close eye on how AI tooling is changing the way you can work. Claude Code is a regular part of how I build things now, not because of the surrounding hype but because the practical upside for learning and shipping is hard to ignore. I use it to move faster, go deeper on things outside my usual domain, and do more with the time I have on weekends.
Outside of work I run (probably too much) and build side projects for the fun of it. This site is where I'll start documenting some of those properly. Nothing perfectly polished, but that's kind of the point.
